July 4th

We are usually out of town for the 4th of July, but this year we happened to be here. We were at the ranch in the morning, and then our ward had a bbq and games in the middle of the day, and then we went to a friends house for another bbq and fireworks show.

The little kids had fun doing sidewalk chalk at our ward party.  (you can't really see it, but she spelled out "Addi")

The older kids enjoyed potato sack races.

They also had a pie making contest (my pie didn't turn out, so I didn't even bring it), and a watermelon eating contest. It was crazy hot outside, but comfortable enough in the shade of the big canopies they put up.

That night we headed to the Briggs' house for a potluck bbq. We all pitched in and brought some fireworks to set off later in the night. The sky was threatening rain, and it was quite cool and windy by this time too, so we donned jackets for the evening. Wes helped the kids with their sparklers.

I don't have any pictures of Jaxson, apparently. He is always too busy and doesn't ever check in with me, like the girls do.

Later in the evening we busted out the bigger fireworks- Kimber was not a fan of the noise! I couldn't get any great pictures of them once the sun went down, but the kids had a great time helping Wes set them off, while I held Kimber and Addi and watched the show!
