Christmas

The traditional picture in the hallway. We spent Christmas at home this year. Only Wes's parents were around, so we had a lot of time to do our own thing on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. We love when Wes's sisters and their families come every other year, but it sure is nice to have a long quiet day to enjoy the kids.

Christmas Eve I made the traditional lasagna dinner. I had invited the missionaries, but they didn't show...turned out to be a mix up with Uncle Mike. We had Wes's parents over, a big roaring fire all day and evening. We watched a nativity video (our tradition instead of reading Luke 2), the kids opened a family game- these blow up tubes, and Monopoly deal. The kids set out their stockings and were to bed pretty early.

Santa came! We ended up having to wake a lot of the kids up at about 7. We had a fire going and music, of course. Santa brought Morgan and Kimber baby alive dolls, Addi got a karaoke machine.

A fitness tracker for Kamryn, more Overdrive pieces for Jax, and a big book of Disney piano songs for Hallie.

Our kids usually don't show much excitement about anything, but they were all so happy and excited for what they received this time. It felt magical!
Addi got a Moana karaoke cd to sing to, so we all took turns belting out our favorite songs.

Morgan got a little stroller to push her new doll around in. She named her doll Sarah, and is obsessed with it.
We played in between getting things ready for dinner. Nana and Papa came over to see what the kids got and to eat with us. Smoked prime rib, potatoes, asparagus, homemade rolls, raspberry pretzel jello (my new favorite), and pie for dessert. We set the table with our wedding china and crystal glasses (minus Morgan).

We got matching "Livin' Wright" shirts from my parents and we all wore them that day. It was a great Christmas, and reminded us of how blessed we are.
