Disneyland-beach day

After spending Monday and Tuesday at Disneyland/California Adventures we were ready for a low key day.  We drove past the Newport temple on our way to the beach. We ended up going to Balboa beach, and then ate at Ruby's on the pier.

The shore line was pretty steep, and the waves were crashing right at the shore, so it was a little too dangerous for our crew to get into the water. But that didn't stop the kids from having a blast.

After eating at Ruby's we renting big bikes and biked around the area. We weren't sure if one hour would be enough, but after about 10 minutes we thought we wouldn't last an hour. Wes was the only one who could comfortably reach the pedals. The rest  of us had to perch on the edge of our seat to pedal. It was still fun, and a good workout.  (Morgan fell asleep and Addi was given the task of keeping her in the bike)

We came back to the hotel and swam in the pool.  There were lots of struggles with tiredness on this trip. And Kimber was crying because I told her that if she ran around the pool one more time she couldn't swim anymore.

That night Wes and I snuck out to celebrate our 13th anniversary a few days late.  There was a Ruth Chris' right across the street from our hotel, so we decided to splurge on a anniversary dinner, and splurge Wes did with the Tomahawk steak. I didn't even know this was a thing, and this picture doesn't do it justice.  It was HUGE!
