This was our "sad" picture that we were leaving. - We really liked the hotel we stayed at Homewood Suites by Hilton. They have family suites, with a small kitchenette/living area with pull out couch. In the bedroom there was a king size bed with a triple bunk bed built into the wall. It gave us enough beds for all of our kids, even though it still felt pretty cramped with all our of stuff in there. The first night we had security come to our room and tell us someone complained about the noise (all of our kids were asleep, except for Morgan who had been crying for only a couple of minutes). So we felt like we couldn't let her cry to sleep (she never cries at home, but she was so over tired for most of the trip and in a new place), so she slept in our bed with us every night, and that was not ideal.
- We brought a bunch of snacks into the park each day,and let the kids snack as much as they wanted. If they wanted something special to eat they had to buy it. We tried to eat a big breakfast and then a late lunch/early dinner so that we were only buying one meal in the park per day.
- Going at Halloween must have made it more busy. Everything we read said that the crowds would be low the end of September, but we felt like it so sooo busy. Maybe we just weren't used to the crowds. If I had to go again I would go in the winter when it wasn't so hot. And definitely wouldn't take an almost 2 year old.
- Our kids had so much fun and it exceeded their high expectations. We saved for this trip for several years, and the kids have already started collecting their change to save for the next trip.We have a big 5 gallon glass jar to fill up, and then we should have enough.
- I was impressed with how well the kids did with all of the walking. I knew Morgan would have a hard time, but the other kids didn't ever complain about anything.
| We left Saturday morning and made it all of the way home, but not without getting pulled over. Luckily for us it was just a warning. |
| We stopped at the deer farm outside of Flagstaff on our way home. |
