Goats!

In the middle of March I was able to get away for a couple of days with some girlfriends, leaving Wes with all 6 kids. He handled it like a pro, and the kids had so much fun with him. Among other things, he took the kids to the flea market, and of course, couldn't say no to these baby goats. He facetimed me on his way home from the flea market (I was in a Target with no kids=heaven)....he had 6 kids, himself and three baby goats in the cab of his truck. I just had to laugh, and was not surprised at all.

 

These baby goats are all male, and were about a month old in the middle of March. Hallie was so super excited to bottle feed them. That got old real quick, taking about an hour each time, because the goats fought over the bottle constantly.

The lambs are getting bigger!

Morgan loved the goats until one bit her finger. They are so darn cute.

It's really, really difficult to catch a lamb, so Hallie is always excited when she can pick one up.

After a week or so, the goats kept getting out of the corral and pooping all over my in-laws yard, so we brought them over to our yard....where they continued to poop everywhere, especially by our front door. After a few days Wes had had it, and put them in with the chickens. After a few weeks there, they are now in Bone's kennel, and Bone is out on a dog run. Musical goats! They have grown a bunch in the last month and a half, and soon we will take them back to the corral.

This is where the goats would hang out. Morgan loved to see and watch them at a safe distance.

One day I heard screaming at the top of someone's lungs, and came running to see what the problem was. Addi was at the sliding glass door, screaming because she couldn't get in past the goats. Apparently she was deathly afraid of them. So she jumped up on the bench, thinking she would be safe, and then the goat jumped up on the bench with her, and her face was priceless. She had no idea the goat could do that, and kept screaming bloody murder (all the while I had started videoing her because I thought it was so funny).

The kids named the goats: Buck (he has horns), Chomper, and Nicer (Kimber named that one, haha, and we never changed it). The goal with the goats, besides being Wes's favorite animal, and fun pets, is to earn money for the kids missions. So we will eventually sell them, or breed them.
