Pinewood Derby

A couple of months ago I was asked to be a judge for the Cub Scouts Pinewood Derby. The kids all came and Hallie was mad that it was only for boys. So I told her to ask her Activity Day leaders if they could do one too (they probably hate me). All the girls thought that was a fun idea, and so it was planned.

Hallie was home sick from school one day in May so Wes helped her get started on it at work.

Painting the car

Hallie designed  her own car. Wes just helped with the weight and drills, etc.

Weighing in the night of

Hallie's car was a little heavy when we first got there, so Wes started drilling holes in it to lighten it up. It ended up taking lots and lots of holes. So at the end of the night each girl got an award. Her award was "Most Holy" car.

Most of the cars lined up before we started

Hallie ended up finishing 3rd and had a great time with all her activity day friends. It was so fun to watch the girls race with their girl-y cars!

So fun! I am activity days leader and we do that in our stake! It's called the Pinkwood Derby :)

Pinkwood Derby :) That is awesome. Diana is also in Activity Days and it is kind of weird to think that Hallie would be in her class.
If you you are ever in town on a Wednesday afternoon send Hallie over to the Beverly building.
